What We Do

As a service system manager, DNSSAB’s Children’s Services plays a vital role in promoting healthy child development and quality early learning experiences that help to set the stage for future learning. The Children’s Services Department  provides subsidies for children to parents and caregivers in need of financial assistance who are working, students, or parents and caregivers of children recognized as having a special need.  Children’s Services manages the delivery of quality early learning and childcare services for children in an environment that is safe, responsive and inclusive. Funding within the District of Nipissing includes funding for special initiatives such as Special Needs Resourcing within licensed childcare settings.
